Getting Started with Ikamet

Welcome to Ikamet. This guide explains how the process works so you know what to expect at each stage.

How it works

1. Tell us what you need

When you contact Ikamet or place an order, we confirm:

  • Which service you need (residency, insurance, work permit, etc.)
  • Your timeline and any deadlines
  • Your current situation (first-time applicant, renewal, employer-sponsored, etc.)

2. You get a dedicated agent

Every Ikamet customer is assigned a dedicated agent who coordinates your case from start to finish. Your agent:

  • Tells you exactly which documents you need
  • Checks your documents before submission
  • Files on your behalf
  • Keeps you updated at every step

3. Document collection

Most processes require a standard set of documents (passport, photos, proof of address, etc.). Your agent will send you a document checklist via WhatsApp.

Upload your documents through the Ikamet customer portal at app.ikamet.com.

4. Submission

Once your documents are verified, we file your application with the relevant authority (immigration office, Ministry of Labour, insurer, Land Registry, etc.).

5. Processing

Processing times vary by service:

6. Result

When your permit or policy is issued, we:

  • Store the document securely in your portal
  • Send it to you via WhatsApp and email
  • Set a renewal reminder so nothing expires without action

Primary communication: WhatsApp

Ikamet communicates primarily via WhatsApp. Make sure the phone number you registered is WhatsApp-capable. You can also reach your agent via the customer portal.
